My neighbour and I share the fence — who pays?
In the ACT, neighbours generally share the cost of a boundary fence, but that's an agreement to sort out between you before work starts — a written yes from next door saves grief later. A locked written offer from HaT gives you a concrete number to agree on.
What details get me accurate fencing offers?
Rough length in metres, the material (timber paling, Colorbond, something else), whether old fencing needs removing, and photos of the run including any slopes or garden beds in the way. Access matters too — say if materials can only come through the house or a narrow side gate.
Does a pool fence have special rules?
Yes — pool barriers must meet strict safety standards for height, gaps, gate self-closing and non-climbable zones. Say clearly that it's a pool fence in the description so the offers you get are for compliant work, not just any fence in the right spot.
